    Horizon Europe 2021 Open Calls

The European Commission has adopted the main work programme of Horizon Europe for the period 2021-2022, with a total budget of EUR 14.7 billion in funding for the two years. These investments aim at accelerating the green and digital transitions.

The European Green Deal will be supported with EUR 5.8 billion in total. The funds will support projects that advance the science of climate change, and that develop solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to the changing climate. For example, activities will accelerate the transition towards clean energy and mobility in a sustainable and fair way, help adapt food systems and support the circular and bio-economy, maintain and enhance natural carbon sinks in ecosystems, and foster adaptation to climate change.

The digital transition will be supported through a budget of EUR 4 billion. The programme lays the groundwork for new digital enterprises. It will help maximise the full potential of digital tools and data-enabled research and innovation in healthcare, media, cultural heritage and creative economy, energy, mobility and food production, supporting the modernisation of industrial models and fostering European industrial leadership. Moreover, they will contribute to sustainable recovery of the current and the resilience against future crises with direct investments of around EUR 1.9 billion in total towards

The European researchers will receive support through fellowships, training and exchanges, build more connected and efficient European innovation ecosystems and create world-class research infrastructures.

    Info-days recordings

Info-days gave the opportunity to prospective applicants, and other stakeholders of EU research and innovation, to receive information and ask questions about the novelties, main funding instruments and processes of Horizon Europe.

The Horizon Europe info-days addressed 9 themes, each featuring a programme of exclusive discussions and hands-on sessions, dedicated to a different cluster or part of the new programme.

    National Contact Points

The National Contact Points (NCP) are support structures established by Member States and Associated Countries and recognised by the European Commission in order to help participants access the different EU Programme opportunities. For Horizon Europe there will be 16 NCP different functions apart from the NCP national coordinator, giving support to participants across the different parts of the programme.
