The European Heat Pump Association (EHPA), one of the associated partner of the Covenant of Mayors, announced the launch of its annual award.
The Heat Pump City of the Year Award (HPCY) is a project awarding the most efficient, smart and sustainable heat pump project at local level. It was launched in 2011 to put the spotlight on cities and regions who put in place an energy efficient project including a heat pump.
EHPA is calling for projects related to the whole chain of application of heat pumps: single residential, commercial and industrial buildings. An additional important element is the level of integration in thermal grids and with other renewable technologies such as solar panels.
The projects received will be reviewed and evaluated by a jury of experts. They will decide not only the winner of the HPCY but also assign 3 new awards:
DecarbBuilding (residential and commercial)
Next Generation Heat Pump (for the most innovative solution)
The award ceremony will take place during the first day of the DecarbCities Forum on May 16th 2018 in Vienna.
If you have an interesting project to submit, do not hesitate to apply!
The deadline for application is April 12th 2018.
