The mayor of Benicàssim (Castellón, Spain) Susana Marqués, recently inaugurated the demonstration project in the framework of the Ceramic Sustainable Urban Drainage System project (LIFE CERSUDS).
Indirectly, CO2 emissions associated with the manufacture of paving materials will also be reduced, since the material used for this purpose is ceramic material in stock and with low commercial value.
LIFE CERSUDS project - financed under the EU LIFE programme - wants to improve the capacity of cities to adapt to climate change and promote the use of green infrastructures in their urban plans. It links Benicàssim Municipality with the Institute of Ceramic Technology as project coordinator, together with the Ceramic Centre of Bologna (CCB-Italy), CHM Obras e Infraestructuras, S.A., Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV), the Centro Tecnológico da Cerâmica e do Vidro (CTCV-Portugal) and the company Trencadís de Sempre, S.L.
